Logistics Solution

Securely manage access to Apexlogi services and resources.

Overview

Apexlogi Identity and Access Management (IAM) enables you to manage access to Apexlogi services and resources securely. Using IAM, you can create and manage Apexlogi users and groups, and use permissions to allow and deny their access to Apexlogi resources.

IAM is a feature of your Apexlogi account offered at no additional charge. You will be charged only for use of other Apexlogi services by your users.

Apexlogi IAM Overview (2:15)

Features

Apexlogi Identity and Access Management (IAM) has a list of best sub features to help IT professionals and administrators to manage access to Apexlogi resources.
  • Users – Create individual users.
  • Groups – Manage permissions with groups.
  • Permissions – Grant least privilege.
  • Auditing – Turn on Apexlogi CloudTrail.
  • Password – Configure a strong password policy.
  • MFA – Enable MFA for privileged users.
  • Roles – Use IAM roles for Amazon EC2 instances
  • Sharing – Use IAM roles to share access.
  • Rotate – Rotate security credentials regularly.
  • Conditions – Restrict privileged access further with conditions.
  • Root – Reduce or remove use of root.

How it works

Apexlogi IAM allows you to:
  • Manage IAM users and their access – You can create users in IAM, assign them individual security credentials (in other words, access keys, passwords, and multi-factor authentication devices), or request temporary security credentials to provide users access to Apexlogi services and resources. You can manage permissions in order to control which operations a user can perform.
  • Manage IAM roles and their permissions – You can create roles in IAM and manage permissions to control which operations can be performed by the entity, or Apexlogi service, that assumes the role. You can also define which entity is allowed to assume the role. In addition, you can use service-linked roles to delegate permissions to Apexlogi services that create and manage Apexlogi resources on your behalf.
  • Manage federated users and their permissions – You can enable identity federation to allow existing identities (users, groups, and roles) in your enterprise to access the Apexlogi Management Console, call Apexlogi APIs, and access resources, without the need to create an IAM user for each identity. Use any identity management solution that supports SAML 2.0, or use one of our federation samples (Apexlogi Console SSO or API federation).

Pricing

Amazon EC2 is free to try. There are five ways to pay for Amazon EC2 instances: On-Demand, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and Spot Instances. You can also pay for Dedicated Hosts which provide you with EC2 instance capacity on physical servers dedicated for your use. For more information on how to optimize your Amazon EC2 spend, visit the Amazon EC2 Cost and Capacity page.

AWS Free Tier includes 750 hours of Linux and Windows t2.micro instances, ( t3.micro for the regions in which t2.micro is unavailable) each month for one year. To stay within the Free Tier, use only EC2 Micro instances.

With On-Demand instances, you pay for compute capacity by the hour or the second depending on which instances you run. No longer-term commitments or upfront payments are needed. You can increase or decrease your compute capacity depending on the demands of your application and only pay the specified per hourly rates for the instance you use.

On-Demand instances are recommended for:

  • Users that prefer the low cost and flexibility of Amazon EC2 without any up-front payment or long-term commitment
  • Applications with short-term, spiky, or unpredictable workloads that cannot be interrupted
  • Applications being developed or tested on Amazon EC2 for the first time

Savings Plans are a flexible pricing model that offer low prices on EC2 and Fargate usage, in exchange for a commitment to a consistent amount of usage (measured in $/hour) for a 1 or 3 year term.

Reserved Instances provide you with a significant discount (up to 75%) compared to On-Demand instance pricing. In addition, when Reserved Instances are assigned to a specific Availability Zone, they provide a capacity reservation, giving you additional confidence in your ability to launch instances when you need them.

For applications that have steady state or predictable usage, Reserved Instances can provide significant savings compared to using On-Demand instances. See How to Purchase Reserved Instances for more information.

Reserved Instances are recommended for:

  • Applications with steady state usage
  • Applications that may require reserved capacity
  • Customers that can commit to using EC2 over a 1 or 3 year term to reduce their total computing costs
